Cross Country: Our School Cross Country is held towards the end of Term 1 each year. Cross Country training is offered before school for students wishing to train and compete at a higher level. More information on training days will be available through the School Newsletter. Parents and grandparents are most welcome to attend to cheer on their sons/daughters. Students from Prep to Year 6 compete in this event. Different distances are run depending on the age of your child.
Gowrie Pass Days: Each term as part of our School Behaviour Management Plan, a Gold Pass Day is offered to students from Prep to Year 6 as a reward for Responsible Behaviour. Students receiving 3 visits to time Out are ineligible for this reward for Responsible Behaviour, unless their behaviour has been redeemed by earning GOTCHA's. Gold Pass Day usually takes place in the last week of each term.
100 Days of Schooling: In Term 3 our prep students celebrate their 100th day of schooling with a special celebration. Prep parents are most welcome to share in this special occasion. Please see attached invitation.
Awards Night incorporating Year 6 Graduation: On the last Monday of Term 4, our Awards Night is held in the school hall usually starting at 7pm. Parents/grandparents of our whole school are most welcome to attend this event. A variety of awards including acadmic, sporting, The Arts, attendance, Naplan, are presented to a number of students across the whole school. Our future school captains are also announced and presented with their badges.
Our year 6 students also receive a special momento for graduating. Our choir and instrumental musicians perform and the night is compered by our student leaders. A light supper finishes off the evening.
Upper School Camp: Each year students in the upper school classes are invited to attend a four day long school camp. The location of the camp varies from year to year so as to provide our students with many different educational and life opportunities. In 2015 the students from years 4-6 went to Hervey Bay. A copy of their itinerary is attached. In previous years the students have attended Tallebugera School Camp, Camp Warrawee, Leslie Dam and Camp Mudjimba.
Under 8's Day Celebrations: Each year our Early years participate in Under 8's Day activities. This event is open to families with children from birth to 8 years of age in our community. Please see attached flyer for further details.
