Gowrie State School plays an active role in our local
community and wider district activities which takes in the regional centre of
Toowoomba. We have the privilege of having a school site in a semi -rural
setting. Together with the Gowrie Junction Progress Hall, our school is located
at the heart of Gowrie Junction.
The term, ‘Junction’ tells the story as we are
a meeting place for community to gather together, to share the responsibility
for the safe custodianship of the young people of our area, and to work
together to build a strong forward pathway with a positive future mindset. We
may not have many community facilities such as a Police Station, hardware shop,
butchery, bakery or a newsagency. nor an RSL or CWA however the Gowrie
community does have the village ethos of working together to raise the child.
We participate in community activities and partner with a
number of external organisations including our neighbouring secondary and
primary schools during the year.
