Welcome to our school community of Gowrie State School.

Our school benefits from highly motivated and skilled staff, supportive community and enthusiastic students. Together with the families of Gowrie State School community, we have created a school which encompasses an atmosphere of caring, respect, ownership, quality learning experiences and personal development.

We invite all families to become a part of our learning community, "Learning and Growing Together" and developing Gowrie State School as a highly respected part of our local community. At Gowrie State School, we work in partnership with parents, carers and family members to teach and help every child, every day, to be their best. Research has found that parental involvement in learning, particularly parent aspirations for their child's learning, has an above average effect on student learning progress. (Hattie, 2010). In return, we ask that students identify themselves by their uniform, positive behaviour and civic mindset, as proud students of Gowrie State School.

Our motto 'Dignity in work and play' captures our commitment to the shared obligation of preparing young people to make their way in the world as confident, caring and responsible citizens. Teaching and learning is not a formula and one size does not fit all students. Our 2018 school improvement agenda is grounded in knowing each and every child and accommodating their unique learning requirements. Both staff and students will benefit from the schools strategic direction to implement a range of research-based, high-impact strategies to ensure our students are able to grow beyond expectations. Inspirational teaching and quality learning are the cornerstones of our school.

We believe everyone can learn.

We look forward to welcoming you into the Gowrie school community.

Regards Mandy - Principal
