Gowrie State School has a thriving music program with many opportunities for young musicians to develop their skills. Along with general classroom music, which all students participate in, students can join the choir and the instrumental program.
Choir:
The choir meets every Wednesday at first break, rehearsing for exciting events outside school, like the biennial 'Sing Out' at the Empire Theatre and the Highfields Cluster Choir Day. Within the school, the Anzac Ceremony, the end of year Awards Night and school parades are also enhanced by the choir's performances. Other than the occassional bus fare, there are no costs for student participation.
Instrumental Music:
Students from Year 4 - 6 are elligible for participation in the instrumental music program.
